The file manager is where you can create new web pages and
directories, upload files, and manage your guestbook and message
board, depending on the features enabled by your administrator.
When you first log into your account you may find that some
web pages have already been created for you. You can edit
these pages by clicking the Original WYSIWYG web editor
button, or converting them to the IE WYSIWYG web editor.
You may also be able to create your own web pages. To do
this, click New Web Page. A selection
of possible templates and template sets will be displayed.
To view a preview of the template, either click on the Preview
link (or thumbnail image) which will show you the whole template
set, or if not present click on the individual template name
link.
The first option (if enabled by your administrator) is to
create a blank page that uses the WYSIWYG editor.
You may also be able to create an empty HTML page that
only uses the IE WYSIWYG web editor (if enabled).
Some of the template sets may include more than one page.
If the dropdown list only shows All Templates
in Set, it has been designed as a complete set and
you cannot select individual pages from that set.
Other templates may not have been designed as a set, and
may allow you to choose a single page from a set.
At the top of the page you can choose how new pages will
be handled if you already have a page with the same name as
one you are creating. If you want to keep all the existing
pages as well as create the new ones, select one of the first
two options, 'Rename the new page' or 'Rename the original
and create a new page'. If you want to create the new page(s)
and remove the old page(s), choose 'Overwrite the original
page'. If you want to keep the old page and not create the
new page of the same name, select 'Do not create a new page'.
The default setting is to rename the new page and keep the
original names the same.
Once you've chose the template you want to base your page(s)
on, select the page or pages in the dropdown list and click
the Create from template_set button.
If you don't already have an index.html page, your
first page will automatically be named index.html. Otherwise
your new pages will be named as they were in the template
set. |
