Founded in 1952 along the lines of the Gospel Male Voice Choirs in England and Scotland, the Choir's motto is "Proclaiming Jesus No Other Name". The Choir has been privileged to proclaim the good news of God's salvation through Christ Jesus in churches, public halls, nursing homes and even prisons. A typical program consists of choral items interspersed with solos, quartets and musical items, and a gospel message from the chairman-speaker.
The Choir usually undertakes a trip to regional NSW once a year, and often joins with similar Choirs from Bundaberg, Brisbane, Melbourne and Geelong to present Festivals of Male Voice Praise in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne on a rotating basis.
